Director of Rooms

The Director of Rooms with a track record of motivating line staff and managers, position will be responsible to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all operational aspects of the Rooms Division. A Strategic hands on operations leader that Supervises, trains, schedules, inspects and evaluates the work and performance of the Front Office, Concierge, Reservations, Service, Guest Relations and housekeeping with the key focus on internal and external customer service, maximizing occupancy and yield, and to ensure the set budgets and goals are achieved.

Requirements

  • Oversee all standards of individual departments of rooms
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Opera Property Management System
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting and productivity control
  • Good problem solving, administrative and good interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Observes up-sell incentive program to ensure revenue is maximized.
  • Acts in a sales capacity to increase revenues and profitability
  • Challenges the status quo to provide and accept constructive ideas for change.
  • Able to create forecast / budget for revenues and expense lines
  • Familiarity with yield management and cost controls

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Hospitality management or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3-4 years experience at the career level of Director of Rooms or department manager in luxury environment
  • Previous Front Office experience in 5 star international brands, preferably with experience in a newly opened resort setting
